Erin’s Story

When it comes to caring for kids with special healthcare needs, Erin goes above and beyond to make each day unique.

The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune SYstem) Award is an international recognition program that celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide every day. ChildServe Homecare Nurse Erin Plummer was nominated by one of her peers, who wrote:

“Erin is a very loving and caring nurse. I have had the distinct pleasure of working with Erin at ChildServe for three years. Her professionalism and knowledge has taught me a lot. She is someone I turn to, if I have questions, and also someone I look up to. I have been a nurse for 40 years and have learned so much from her.

We both provided care to a teen girl with special healthcare needs. Erin put a lot of thought into what a teenage girl would like and the needs of the family. She has gone above and beyond to cater her care to what a 16-year-old girl would like, such as manicures, facials, and massages.

Mom has gone out of her way to inform her case manager and our supervisor of how much Erin has done for the care of her daughter. I know that all of our lives have been much improved by working with and knowing this incredible nurse and person.”
